Wow! was my response after reading the first one…..and every one since. I’ve learned and grown and stretched and transformed from each of these teachings. I find myself in a more “natural” relationship with Nature as I take a stroll through my hood at dawn each morning. I have been greeting the deer I encounter by saying, aloud to them, Good morning, Sister Deer! They have become less startled by my presence and, in fact, when last we met they remained feeding near to the sidewalk I was on while I walked by. I feel the gift of each new day….the true gift that the day is…..as the sun’s rays and warmth and live-giving energy “pops” over the horizon gifting this planet, and all of her inhabitants, with another day of life on our beloved Earth. 00:26:11 Susan Estep: Good Morning from Northern Paiute, Confederated Tribes of WarmSprings land, sister, oregon … thanking you 00:26:27 Reed Kinney: Thank you 00:50:04 Diane: Four Arrows video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkQTeVmHn7M 00:51:46 Four Arrows: Thank you for your powerful words Chele. Soon the deer will be telling you stories! 00:57:01 Chele Scholl: I look forward to hearing their stories! I have been receiving the story of some birds that have been displaced from their home by man’s “development” of houses and businesses in my hood. It is powerful to understand their perspective. I love those birds. I share with them my compassion and understanding. I relate to their grief. 01:01:05 Four Arrows: Darcia talks about one the worldview precepts, to lead with the heart. Here is a copy of the worldview precept chart with the 40 comparative, contrasting, potentially complementary precepts of our dominant and our Indigenous worldview. https://www.kindredmedia.org/glossary/indigenous-worldview/ 01:02:10 Xiola Bromley: chele, dealing with grief is an important part I feel people need to know~ 01:03:54 Xiola Bromley: how to manage going forward. 01:06:15 Chele Scholl: I asked them this morning how long they would grieve. I was trying to understand their grief. They lost their home. They lost the land and relationships with food and nourishment and nurturing of that land. In some ways, they have lost their life; they have to create a new life. 01:06:53 Patricia Herr: Thank you so much for the chart! I appreciate it dearly! 01:08:33 Four Arrows: Let it become the blue print that will help each one of us get to a place where we can create the parenting and community Darcia is describing as vital. 01:11:03 Darcia Narvaez: Here is a link to the Indigenous Worldview list: https://www.kindredmedia.org/glossary/indigenous-worldview/ 01:11:33 Xiola Bromley: chele, keeping listening. I think often that is what is needed with grief. 01:12:50 Chele Scholl: Yes, another’s presence to witness. 01:13:29 Xiola Bromley: 💛 01:15:35 Susan Estep: thank you so much everyone, appreciating all of this and will be balancing in my own life and community, yes, lets begin again , healing grief is important too , nature will be helping us , finding this to be realistic 01:23:26 Patricia Herr: .... yes ... "needed with grief" .... and so hard to keep up with when I am getting tired and hurt- falling back into all the distrucitve patterns of being in a state of separation and being judgemental. Four arrows is so right - it needs to ba a dayly practice - even more when having been "edjucated" so differently as a child ... 01:24:27 Four Arrows: The best way to mourn, learn from the death of a love one, is to become fearless of death and deeply appreciative of the gift of life. 01:26:36 Four Arrows: Worldview, however, is essential to the creation of capitalism and imperialism. It is impossible to have capitalism with our original worldview, which promoted matriarchy. 01:26:41 Chele Scholl: I appreciate that perspective Four Arrows. 01:27:07 Four Arrows: Economics is touted as a science. It isn't. 01:27:34 Chele Scholl: Really, there is no ‘death’. There is a transformation of your consciousness when a body is shed. 01:28:53 Xiola Bromley: yes.operational system. the base is gift. 01:29:11 Xiola Bromley: why do we have to convince people? 01:29:21 Four Arrows: who are we as a species is the worldview... Asking who we are is worldview. Nurturing and return to nature is a worldview foundation. The institution cannot change without the fundamental interconnected beliefs or precepts. 01:29:25 Barbara Bickel: Thank you Four Arrow and Darcia for your dedication to the kinship worldview. I am really appreciating reading your beautiful book and its precepts shared thought the voices of such a diversity of Indigenous teachers 01:30:10 Xiola Bromley: base is gift with no exchange needed. 01:30:38 Xiola Bromley: not unconditional love but love without condition. 01:31:21 Reed Kinney: For a copy of, Ideology of Decentralized Civilization and Egalitarian Community... Request book at my e-mail: reedk020351@gmail.com ... Request Book, Ideology of Decentralized Civilization... in subject line...I believe that transformation is indispensable to the project of decentralization. Thank you. Sincereely yours, Reed Kinney 01:31:32 Four Arrows: The largest biodiversity study ever done, published in May 2019, proves that Indigenous worldview was instrumental in those places controlled by Indigenous Peoples who have not forgotten the answer to the question, "Who are we"? 01:32:27 Darcia Narvaez: Our essay on what founders got from Natives: https://indiancountrytoday.com/opinion/before-europeans-native-communities-flourished-as-true-democracies 01:33:27 Darcia Narvaez: Here is Four Arrows' essay: https://www.thenation.com/article/archive/biodiversity-un-report-indigenous-worldview/ 01:34:11 Betsy Webb: Thank you, Letecia, Gen, Four Arrows, Darcia and Lillian. Thanks so much! 01:34:46 Four Arrows: Thank you Reed. Yes, I've seen your book agree with the problem of "centralized" state government ... Much to learn from the Maternal Gift Economy Society 01:34:53 Reed Kinney: I think that transformation as described by Four Arrows is indispensable, and fundamantal to decentralized civilization. I think that it takes a nail to drive out a nail. "Capitalism" can be driven out by decentralied economic social organization confulent with the Indigenous worldview. 01:35:14 Susan Estep: deeply appreciating, thanking you , feeling moving since we are being 70 percent water just like Mother Earth …. entraining with her as child of this beautiful living together , mother Earth, then helping best we can where we are, with our gifting … thank you for that comment on capitalism and this discussion which helps my confusion in this society that doesn't have indigenous wowrldview and fights it leading to acting out domination ….grief. how to create community contexts for this ? 01:36:11 Reed Kinney: My gratutude... 01:36:27 Diane: The ability to copy the chat is not available in Zoom webinars. The chat will be posted with the video @ https://www.maternalgifteconomymovement.org 01:38:47 Susan Estep: wow, thank you Four Arrows, following this suggestion of being … actively , internally then , human being , being thank you so much all of you, this is so refreshing 01:39:01 Patricia Herr: ... thank you ......... 01:39:02 Chele Scholl: Powerful! 01:40:15 Chele Scholl: “A full now” would transform this planet. 01:41:01 Four Arrows: Yes, all of us must grow nurturing gardens no matter where we live. 01:41:04 Darcia Narvaez: Sounds great, David! 01:41:37 Patricia Herr: Love and thanks to all of you .... 01:42:28 Four Arrows: Beautiful to think of future generations in all of our actions. 01:42:57 Four Arrows: From "courage" to "Fearlessness" or "Fearless courage" or "Trust in the universe." 01:44:11 Xiola Bromley: if we are going to re"build" we will need the how to do that~ 01:44:15 Reed Kinney: The solution, I think, requires an econmic structure, yes a gift economy, but the structure is fundamantal to that actualization. My book is my response to that need. I enter that response into this discussion. Ask and I will send it to you: reedk020351@gmail.com .... Thank you. 01:47:21 Diane: The chat will be posted with the video @ https://www.maternalgifteconomymovement.org 01:47:29 Chele Scholl: Thank you, Darcia and Four Arrows, for creating this book and for sharing your wisdom and understanding. Truly, your gifts and brilliance have touched me deeply 💚 01:48:10 Four Arrows: Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.- Vaclov Havel 01:48:53 Darcia Narvaez: FYI, the royalties all go to Indigenous groups. 01:49:09 Four Arrows: All of Darcia and my proceeds from the book go to Indigenous groups such as Sitting Bull College, The Lakota Law Project, and Sierra Madre Alliance. 01:50:01 Four Arrows: You can save the chat box by clicking on the three dots to the right of this box 01:50:14 Diane: https://evolvednest.org 01:50:14 Cindy Torres: Thank you Gen, Letecia, Darcie, and Four Arrows. 01:50:47 Four Arrows: The gift economy came from the Nature based, "Maternal" worldview. 01:51:36 Diane: Register @ https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_dXxRpzunRNO7mD5_46upgA 01:52:28 Four Arrows: In a way it was the maternal actions of the cosmos itself and the human observation of it that created the gift economy 01:52:28 Chele Scholl: Thank you, Ladies of the Maternal Gift Economy, for all you do for all of us! 01:52:31 Susan Estep: definitely will be reading your book and recommending to to others….. this, being beautiful today, love, prayers and gratitude with heartfulness….
